NOJA Power Releases EcoLink Firmware Version 1.3, Introducing Sectionaliser Capability

NOJA Power is proud to announce the release of EcoLink Firmware Version 1.3, a significant update that introduces Sectionaliser functionality to the EcoLink platform. This enhancement marks a major step forward in distribution network automation and safety.

With the new firmware, the EcoLink can now operate as a Sectionaliser, enabling utilities to improve fault isolation and reduce outage durations. This functionality allows the EcoLink to count upstream protection operations and open on a clear cycle, enhancing coordination with upstream devices and improving overall network reliability.

In addition to standard sectionalising features, EcoLink Firmware 1.3 introduces a configurable innovative safety enhancement: the ability to execute a protection trip while in sectionaliser mode. This feature activates if a fault persists beyond a safe threshold, indicating a potential failure of the upstream protection asset. By doing so, the EcoLink helps prevent prolonged fault conditions, protecting infrastructure and improving safety for field crews and the public.

“The addition of sectionaliser capability to EcoLink reflects our commitment to smarter, safer, and more resilient energy networks,” said Neil O'Sullivan, Group Managing Director at NOJA Power.
“This firmware update empowers utilities with greater flexibility and protection intelligence, especially in complex distribution environments.”

EcoLink Firmware 1.3 is available now for deployment. Existing EcoLink users can upgrade via NOJA Power’s standard firmware update process. For more information, visit www.nojapower.com or contact your NOJA Power representative.
