Introducing EcoLink® Manager: Revolutionising Grid Reliability for Utilities

NOJA Power is pleased to introduce the EcoLink® Manager — a powerful and intuitive software application designed to seamlessly connect, configure, and manage NOJA Power EcoLink devices. With intelligent features, EcoLink Manager empowers utilities to enhance grid reliability and operational efficiency, making medium-voltage systems easier to deploy and maintain.
By using the EcoLink® Manager for configuration and remote control, users can access the following capabilities:
1. Real-Time Operational Visibility via Dashboard
The Dashboard provides operators with real-time system status and critical device identification details. This is key for rapid diagnostics and maintaining operational awareness.
- System Status: Operators can immediately view the Breaker State (Open, Closed, Lockout) and the status of Protection (PROT) and Auto Reclose (AR) (On/Off).
- Capacitor Charge Status: The screen displays a crucial operational indicator, showing whether the device has sufficient charge to perform basic or extended switching sequences.
- Device Health: Displays ambient temperature, frequency, and device identification information, including the EcoLink® Serial Number and Software Version.

2. Enhanced Efficiency through Online Controls
The Online Controls screen allows users to remotely manage key device functions, significantly reducing the necessity and cost of sending personnel to the field.
- Remote Operation: Features include remote Open and Close switch commands.
- Protection Management: Users can Enable/Disable Protection (PROT) and Auto Reclose (AR) and change the Configured Group settings.
- Configuration Access: Users with appropriate access can remotely load/send or retrieve the entire configuration package, and select pre-defined standard fuse configurations.

3. Detailed Fault Analysis with Event Logs
Crucial for post-fault analysis and improving fault response, the Event Log records every occurrence inside the device, storing up to 500 entries in chronological order.
- Data Retrieval: Authorised users can access detailed fault trace information related to specific trip events through the system interface.
- Audit Trail: The software also maintains an Audit Log, storing 200 security-related entries.

4. Robust Security and User Management
Designed with field engineers in mind, the system supports efficient, role-based administration tailored to real-world deployment needs, enabling secure management of device access and operational control.
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Up to 10 independent users can be configured, each with individual roles and passwords.
- Fine-Grained Permissions: Access rights are defined by groups aligned with industry standards (e.g., IEEE 1686-2022), including View Data, Control, Config, Firmware, Security, Audit, and Factory.
“The EcoLink Dropout fuse replacement is as simple to configure as it is to install,” states NOJA Power Group Managing Director Neil O’Sullivan.
“Utilities can stock them on line trucks to replace dropout fuses and instantly increase feeder reliability by 80%, with the device often paying for itself on the first successful reclose by avoiding a costly truck roll.”
EcoLink® Manager works hand in hand with the EcoLink® device, offering utilities a smarter way to configure, monitor, and control their network. It is now available for EcoLink users and can be downloaded from the NOJA Power website.
