REB Bangladesh Using OSM15 To Build Rural Substations
REB Bangladesh has taken delivery of 15 OSM15 reclosers for use in rural substations.
REB is the electrical utility responsible for all rural areas in Bangladesh except for a few cities. It was formed in 1977 to build a network with the specific aim to electrify rural areas throughout the country. By June 30, 2002, REB had built over 144,137 kilometres of distribution line and 272 33/11kV substations. Over 4.05 million rural customers have now been connected making REB a key component in the economic development of these areas.
NOJA Power supplied the OSM15 reclosers with height-adjustable substation mounting frames built from galvanised steel. This simplifies the substation mounting process. A bracket for mounting voltage transformers to the frame was also supplied. The combination of functionality, ease of installation and compact size makes the OSM15 an ideal choice for rural substations
